Dark Mode Now Available!
This might be trivial to some, but I thought this was worthy of some front page love. xGeek now has Dark Mode! If you look towards the top right of your screen, you should see a nice orange flame icon which you can use to flip between light and dark modes. It’s kinda cheating a bit – it does some sort of “colour opposites” sorcery which is simple but works. I don’t think the colour scheme is bad – either still works – but am open to some comments. Also as a side note – I’ve also dome some changes that should improve the look of things when you quote people in the forums – some people may need to clear their browser cache to properly see this though (damn caching issues…)
xGeek Needs You!
So we’ve made it past the first few days of the site. I’ve already successfully added some of the extra fluff I wanted. We’ve also had a number of people join already with some action already in the forums. Contributing to the forums is of course something that I wanted, as well as submitting content for the front page! We also need the flying monkey squad sent out to spread the word as far as we can! So I put the call out to the people we have already to help us make this the best site it can be!
Japan finally stops using floppy disks
It’s taken until 2024, but Japan has finally said goodbye to floppy disks. Up until last month, people were still asked to submit documents to the government using the outdated storage devices, with more than 1,000 regulations requiring their use. But these rules have now finally been scrapped, said Digital Minister Taro Kono.

Victorius 2024

Come one, come all and get your tabletop wargaming, modelling and hobby on! This should be epic this year, as we’ve expanded massively to include most of the wargame clubs in Victoria. I will be demonstrating a game of WWIII – Team Yankee, so feel free to drop by and say gudday, and maybe even have a turn at one of the many demonstration games available.
